   The author of this song, Satyendranath Datta, was called “the magician of Chanda (Rhythm)”. Salil Choudhary once said in an interview that the most difficult part of setting this poem to music was to create the different moods of the song, such as haste, tiredness, village vignettes etc through changes in rhythm and tempo. At the very end of the song, one can actually feel the tiredness of the palanquin bearers. Hats off to the trio of Satyendranath, Salil Choudhary and Hemant Mukherjee.
